Flower season in Holambra! A Expoflora, the largest exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants in Latin America, takes place in the charming Holambra, a small town 134 kilometers from São Paulo, is the largest center for cultivation and marketing of flowers and ornamental plants in the country, accounting for about 50% of sales in the sector. The city that has Dutch influence enchants visitors with its typical buildings, gastronomy, culture, and, of course, the wonderful gardens and plantations.

Expoflora Park
The Expoflora Park has an area of 250,000 m², of which 750 m² are destined for the Exhibition of Floral Arrangements, one of the main attractions of the event, which this year has as its theme Flowers, Flavors and Sensations. Among the permanent attractions are also the Landscaping and Gardening Exhibition, with the theme Fruits of the Garden; the Flower Parade; a Rain of Petals; the Holambra Tourist Tour, which includes a visit to a field of flowers; the typical dances; Shopping das Flores with shops selling typical products and household items, and Dutch cuisine, as well as an amusement park, mini farm and visit to the Museu de Holambra.
But the fair is not just for decoration and landscaping professionals. It is a true cultural and gastronomic fair that attracts around 300 thousand visitors from all over Brazil. Check out the main attractions:
Tour
City tour conducted by Holambra, presenting aspects of the history and architecture of the former Dutch colony in Brazil. The tour includes a visit to the life-size Windmill and a field of flowers. Departures are hourly.:
Traditional Dutch Dances
Daily, from 2:30 pm, groups of typical dances perform on the four stages of the venue. The dances are inspired by nature (rain dance, woodpecker dance and the polka on ice, reminiscent of skating), by professions and trades (cobbler, washerwomen, sailor, pumping water, brewing beer), in the harvests (bean carrier, ripe barley) or even in stories about the origin and traditions of the Dutch people, represented through waltzes, marches, mazurkas and o schots_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_(which became xote).
Entertainment
On the three stages installed near the food courts (Roses, Lilies and Tulips) there are presentations by Dutch and belly dance groups and shows by Fanfarra Amigos de Holambra, always from 2 pm. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 pm to 2 pm, on the Roses stage, floral designers Leo Mendes and Tânia Santos, from the Itinerant Florist Training School, demonstrate how to produce small arrangements to give as gifts to friends or decorate the house and offer tips how to care for flowers and plants.
Cultural History Museum of Holambra
Located on the Expoflora grounds, the Museum has free admission. The entire history of Dutch immigration and colonization to Brazil is kept there. Its collection has about two thousand photos and utensils brought or used by the first immigrants. Next to the Museum, tourists can see replicas of the wattle and daub houses, duly furnished, inhabited by the pioneers, as well as an exhibition of old machinery and tractors.
Shopping
Souvenirs Dutch, only found in Holambra, crafts, fashion and decoration. Options to gift and take a little piece of Holambra to your home. There are three malls with around 250 stands for the sale of handicrafts, industrial products and decoration, as well as furniture and household items, clothes and shoes.

The attraction is one of the most exciting attractions for visitors. No wonder: the colorful and fragrant petals of approximately 150 kilos of roses are thrown by a special equipment, installed in a large open area, over a crowd that enjoys a soft and multicolored rain. On weekends, the petals are also dropped throughout the park by a helicopter.
